Disposal of produced water is the single largest operating expense for most well. In some of the most active and prolific basins in Texas, water disposal is at all time highs. Transporting all of this water is creating significant traffic and operational issues for the industry. Tens of thousands of transactions are taking place every day using business practices that have remained largely unchanged for many decades. Drivers are still climbing up on tanks, opening hatches, and manually gauging fluid levels. Paper field tickets dominate the industry, creating headaches and accounting nightmares for all. It is about time we begin to rethink and streamline this business process leveraging Industrial IoT technologies.
